Judge for yourself

“Judge for Yourself” is an interactive programme designed to give an insight into the work of the National Probation Service. It offers the chance to get to know four offenders, find out why they offend, and recommend a sentence to the court. You can then see the decision of the court and, after that, fast forward to the future to see how things turned out for the offender on completion of their sentence. The stories are hard-hitting, and based on real life cases. While the offenders are portrayed by actors, the probation officers are the professionals who dealt with the actual cases.

Copies of the CD-ROM are available free for use in secondary and upper schools, youth groups, and for crime reduction work with local communities. The CD-ROM has been produced by the National Offender Management Service (NOMS), part of the Ministry of Justice.
