Protecting the Public
The aim of the probation service in Bedfordshire is to protect the public.
It does this by assessing the risks that offenders pose in the community,
and advising local courts on whether a sentence served in the community would be appropriate.
The probation service in Bedfordshire supervises offenders in the community,
providing various specialist programmes to reduce re-offending. It supervises many offenders on release from prison,
and it provides services to help victims of crime.
