Each year more than 2,000 people in Bedfordshire will serve community sentences, supervised by the Probation Service.
Some will do unpaid work for the community, others will be on special probation programmes to deter them from crime.
We also supervise offenders who are released on licence from prison.

Community Payback - can we help?
Offenders in Bedfordshire contribute more than 88,000 hours of Unpaid Work for the community each year – worth about £600,000 – by undertaking Community Payback.
If you have a project that we could work on, please let us know.

A Chance to "Judge for Yourself"
“Judge for Yourself” offers the chance to see four offenders, find out why they offend, and suggest a sentence to the court.
This interactive CD-ROM depicts four real life cases, shows you the court’s decision, and lets you see how things turned out at the end of the sentence.
|
FREE: The CD-ROM is available free for use in secondary schools, colleges and for youth groups in Luton and Bedfordshire.
It can also be used by criminal justice professionals working in crime reduction.
